The Bainbridge Island Downtown Association has just announced that Jerri Lane [no relation to me] will step into the shoes of former Executive Director Andie Mackin. In a reality version of Trading Places, Mackin left BIDA to work for the Downtown Seattle Association, and Lane comes to Bainbridge from Visit Seattle where she was Senior Vice President of Marketing. Visit Seattle is a private, nonprofit marketing organization that has served as Seattle/King County’s official destination marketing organization (DMO) for more than 50 years.
Lane previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers and The Westin Seattle. She has been an Island resident for two years.
About her new job, she said, “I could not be more excited to live and work on this beautiful island. I look forward to working with all the stakeholders to further the mission of the organization, so ably served by Andie.”
BIDA Board of Directors President Tim O’Brien identified what made Lane the right person for the job: “Her extensive background in destination and hospitality marketing made her an ideal candidate for the position.”
Mackin helped BIDA in the search for her replacement. She is now the new Resource Development Manager for the Downtown Seattle Association.
